The Devonport Orions have been crowned Cricket North West Second Grade One-Day champions again after a four-wicket win over Burnie at the Devonport Oval on Sunday.
The Orions bowled first and restricted the Hurricanes to 9-156 from their 45 overs, with Sam Fogg taking 3-27 while Chris Lindsay (2-8) and Jake Glover (2-35) were the other multiple wicket takers.
For Burnie, James Radcliff top-scored with 44, while Nathan Hayes and Nick Imms added 27 and 24 respectively.
The game was in the balance during the chase when Devonport fell to 6-98 thanks to three wickets from Lindsay Skeggs (3-24), including the dismissal of Brad Moore for 31.
But the home side recovered and took the victory through an unbeaten 59-run stand between Kai Wilson (32 not out) and Glover (25 not out), with the latter hitting the winning runs with an all-ran four in the 40th over.
This is the second time the Orions have won the title following their maiden win during the 2022/23 season.
Here are the highlights from the game.
